Red and to Bed

Ever notice how Chip Litherland is the king of the color red? It's remarkable how we follow photographers we've never met. I love his blog Redlights and Redeyes, and I thought of him this evening when I found this trio of red images on my desktop. I'll be gone for a bit, vacationing at home in Seattle, but I leave you with red. Goodnight.

War Games

I had the great experience to spend the night on an aircraft carrier for the paper. Noisy, sometimes crowded, and impossible to navigate. It was remarkable that many of the most important jobs were carried out by teenagers. I'll post some more tomorrow.

Gym

It was a Friday night, an open gym at a local middle school. That's how I spend my Friday nights these days.

Backstage

Sometimes, all you can do is experiment, because time and energy allow you to do so. Backstage at the Miss Chesapeake Pageant. Pageants always make me think of my dear friend Jenn Whitney in San Antonio.
